Since their humble beginnings in February of 2001, while still in their freshman year of high school, Whitey will always be the band that is in it for 'all the right reasons.' While the band has gone through many changes stylistically, they have strictly maintained their philosophical vitality that is the freedom of expression through song, and celebration of the unifying principles of music.
At first glance, the diversity within Whitey's repertoire can seem nonsensical, however it is the most honest, revealing conveyance of song that they can possibly offer. Their purpose as a band has always been to do nothing more than channel whatever expression comes from them at the specific moment in time, while making sure that songs are crafted to make others do nothing but come together, dance, and enjoy themselves and others.
Whitey draws the most diverse crowds conceivable and has since their inception. This is simply because musically, Whitey has something to offer everyone and conceptually, their shows are nothing but a hot, sweaty, intense celebration of dance, music, art, and life.
In eight years, Whitey has played in every venue from bakeries, to haylofts, to middle school gyms, to nightclubs and festivals across the country. They have performed with such bands as; New World On Fire, Los Furios, The Brat Attack, Closet Monster, Bigwig, Holly McNarland, The Tea Party, DOA, Stabilo Boss, WPP, The Accident, Cellar Door, Daggermouth, A Textbook Tragedy, and the Tom Fun Orchestra in addition to completing countless successful tours spanning both coasts.
