Sillken

Carving out a niche for themselves, Sillken brings to the stage personality and panache with an overlay of chic and reality with their fusion of rootsy folk pop-rock. Sillken's music is eclectic, ranging from heart wrenching lyrics to pure fun, all wrapped up in a clean delivery. Proudly replicating no one, their songs are fresh and sweet resisting cookie cutter formulae. Rooted in brutal honesty, autobiography, fiction, fact and the craft of storytelling, Sillken's music reflects 'outside of the box' production, setting them apart yet reminiscent of legends such as Lou Reed, Leonard Cohen, Mazzie Star, Neil Young, Emmy Lou Harris, Nico-Christa Päffgen, and Tom Waits.

Band Members

Sillken is made up of MICHELE SCHMIDT & KEN CADE - formerly two solo artists until recently - you may have seen them at the Freetimes, C'est What, and at other various acoustic gathering spots around Toronto. Michele and Ken moved to Vancouver four years ago, where they are active on the west coast music scene.
