In an era of music where record sales are down, downloads are up and monotony rules, there is also a crave for something new and exciting. With music available literally at the click of a button there has never been a larger audience looking for something new and exciting. Enter Jamie Alimorad, an award-winning singer and songwriter. Influenced by artists such as The Tubes and The Beatles, Alimorad began writing and performing catchy, yet sophisticated, pop/rock songs. His electric voice and shows have left a lasting impression on audiences and have made him one of the best up and coming acts.
In October 2008 he began to put together a band and started performing around Boston and Cambridge at local bars and clubs and developed a strong college following. A year later he performed as part of The Next Big Thing festival at the Worcester Palladium and won best act. On February 11, 2010 Alimorad represented Northeastern at the annual Rice & Bean Pot at the Paradise Rock Club and has performed in major venues including the Carrier Dome and Fenway Park.
Alimorad's debut album, "Cornerstone", was released on September 9, 2010. The first single, "What You Have", entered the Indie104 Top 40 at #18 on March 7, 2011 and peaked at #1 on April 25, 2011 where it stayed until August 6, 2011. The second single entered the Indie104 Top 40 on March 7, 2011 at #33 and peaked at #1 on August 6, 2011. "In Her Smile" peaked at #1 on August 13, 2011 and "Stay With Me" peaked at #3 on August 6, 2011. From August 6, 2011- September 8, 2011 Alimorad occupied the #1, #2, #3 and #4 chart positions on the Indie104 Top 40.
