I agree with the comments here. Let's review what Corina said:
''corina wrote Feb 01/12 Having a big crowd is only one of five criteria that the bands are judged by - musicianship, showmanship, originality etc all count!''
According to this, Phat Jesus won based on all these criteria. Musicianship-A few other bands actually had good harmonies and could at least carry a tune. I understand the appeal of just not caring, but it's suppose to come off as cool, not ACTUALLY not caring. Showmanship- A few minutes (or shall I say seconds) after this band started playing, what was left of the crowd from the previous band began dispersing to the back of the stage. I don't see how the music was a crowd pleaser in any way. Originality- What was original here? The fact that they showed no stage presence or could not carry a simple tune? The attempt at having some kind of mascot doll that didn't even work...I'm at a loss. This band winning is making me very suspicious of the entire contest.
All Day Dreamers and Aaron Esteban were the ONLY ones that deserved the top spot. The lead singer of ADD had a really nice voice and had stage presence. Aaron Esteban was completely different from the other genres we had seen all night, and he had the crowd moving. He also had the biggest crowd at the stage even though he was last to perform.
You should definitely revisit your decision and give the other bands who played a great show another chance.
P.S: Here's the kicker; Phat Jesus had approximetely 5 audience members at the stage during their entire performance, and, accroding to this website, his profile has 0 listens. Yeah...that not weird at all...

I agree with chrisG78 and aaronesteban comment. I have no idea how Phat Jesus won. They are a terrible band. I stayed and watched every band from first to last and these guys were one of the worst. I can easily name at least 5 bands off the top of my head that were better than them hands down and not only based on crowd response or attendance. All the other bands had great stage presence catchy vocals and guitar riffs and great musicians over all. It’s embarrassing to know that these guys will be representing Montreal as one of the best bands after that terrible show. Hard Rock Cafe is a prestigious and iconic venue and considering the show will be during CWM when all of Canada’s and US’s major record labels, A&R and press will be there. What is that going to say about Montreal’s music scene and artists? It’s sad and unfortunate. If I was supernova I would be embarrassed to be sending these guys to Toronto and have paid for these guys’ tickets and showcase and transportation. I would highly recommend that supernova reviews the judges’ decision and have a revote and chose an actually good band. As a matter of fact I would love to see the judges score sheet from the show, to know what terrible score they gave the other bands.

@chrisG78 I also do question myself why did this PHAT JESUS won the event. I brought 37 people that night, and unfortunetily I was the last one performing, so there was ironically NO judges, no one left except the guy pressing play at my instrumental and of course my friends. I remember watching Phat Jesus perform and there was around 5 people supporting him. I also am TOTALLY surprised that this guy won. And I also wouldnt mentionned other disapointing things that I saw that night. Btw, when you mention EVERYBODY left from the time that guy starting singing on that stage well they were 90% all my friends that I brought. Peace AE
