Limosis [Li*mo"sis, n. (Med.) A ravenous appetite caused by disease; excessive and morbid hunger.] is a sound, a tone, a quality of noise, a habit, nostalgia, a dream. Limosis is the gathering of the scattered. Limosis is glowing amps, snakes of metal, lady bugs, broken sticks, laminated wood, silicone wafers, tinnitus, blood and sweat. Limosis isn’t right and isn’t wrong, is a string hanging from a naked drunk girl dancing on a bar on new years, a swirling puff of smoke, the munchies, a pipe dream in a dreamer’s head who doesn’t know he’s lost but wouldn’t care anyways, a pussy sleeping in the sun. Limosis is shooting over the Fraser River, cooling off in Cultas Lake, cliff jumping at Suislide, boiling in the Harrison hot springs, a dancing fire on the beach, a star crowded sky. Limosis is a cellar door, sacredly insignificant, a metaphor.
Most of all Limosis is Andy on drums, Pete on bass, Darren on the mic, and Ryan on guitar, who faithfully unite every week at their jam house in Abby to try their best to translate their life experiences into imaginary structures called songs that they eventually name. Occasionally they play shows anywhere in the Fraser Valley from downtown Vancouver to White Rock to Chilliwack. They aim to play the music they want to hear but no one else is making and feed it to the masses through live performances in front of hungry audiences.
How can the sound and the habit and the quality--- the blood and the sweat, the life and the dream--- be translated honestly? When a scared cat is cornered you don’t force it into serenity, you must coax it delicately with patience, or the cat runs away. An organic approach to song writing is the way of Limosis. We invite you to hear our results and please feel free to come back and check our progress in the near future.
