.singer multi-instrumentalist, prolific songwriter recording engineer producer and the driving force behind the Cigarette Widows . Born Darcy Daniel Edward Joseph Day on March 11, 1968 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Darcy is of Metis heritage. Darcy attended St Laurent collegiate and attended R. B. Russell Technical School in grade 11 to learn guitar, where he took part in their music program and completing all 4 levels of guitar in 4 months !!!! Darcy continued his education at Red River Community College where he obtained his Level 4 Carpentry certificate.
After playing with different groups through R. B. Russell and numerous other bands around the city of Winnipeg Darcy relocated back to his home town of St. Laurent, Manitoba where his grandmother lived who had given him his first guitar. Darcy worked in carpentry and other odd jobs while raising his three sons.
After playing and writing with different artists Darcy started jamming with some old highschool friends forming various bands and playing countless gigs gaining invalueable experience and stage presense
Darcy has recorded independently with the bands Anaconda Bad Manners and The Poor Boys. His major musical influence came when he saw The Queen City Kids live at the Winnipeg Arena with April Wine. The experienced moved him to pursue his music. He “was blown away by the atmosphere and was hooked for life”
