BLACK BETTY has risen to slay the hearts and minds of the most hardened rocker, and most critical connoisseur of metal. An eruption of the heaviest and most punishing sounds a four piece would be hard pressed to equal, BLACK BETTY breaths new life into the roots metal tradition while paying homage to the iconic sounds that defined 70's arena rock. After his tenure as lead vocalists with Canada's stoner rock pioneers Sir Hedgehog, Jonas Fairley continued with his insatiable appetite for performing and recording music. Jonas was invited to sit in on a jam where his percussive skills would be considered for hire. Meeting for the first time was the lovely Ana Serena playing the most beautiful piano. The classically trained Ana is also an accomplished guitarist having bought her first guitar at the age of 12. Discovering a mutual love for music and the need to express, explore and exploit their creativity, it wasn't long before the two were writing and rehearsing as a duet. The chemistry was undeniable. Their discriminating tastes and a shared passion for heavier music further forged the duo's sound. The experience of BLACK BETTY's sweat drenched, face melting live performance has been captured on their debut full length record.
